NEWTON Project at EDULearn 2019

Horizon 2020 NEWTON Project had a great presence at EDULEARN 2019 this summer. A wide range of papers and NEWTON project outcomes were presented where the NEWTON partner representatives attended the EDULearn 2019 Conference and disseminated the project findings in front of about 1000 participants!

This included NEWTON project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Gabriel-Miro Muntean presenting the NEWTON project and demonstrating the NEWTELP platform in front of the EDULearn Conference 2019 attendees. He also presented the paper collaboration between ADAPTEMY, NCI, University of Bucharest and DCU: “A CASE STUDY IN STEM EDUCATION FOR LEARNERS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS” authored by Ioana Ghergulescu, A.N. Moldovan, M. Bratu, C.H. Muntean and G.M. Muntean.

He also jointly presented with co-author Jim Playfoot from
Whiteloop their collaborative paper “Usability Evaluation Case Study in Technology-
Enhanced Learning Large Scale Pilot in Primary Schools” authored by Diana Bogusevchi, Jim Playfoot, Odilla Finlayson and Gabriel-Miro Muntean.

Among other presenters was Dr. Mohammed A. Togou from DCU who defended very well the DCU-CEU Madrid collaborative paper “NEWTON FAB LAB INITIATIVE: ATTRACTING K-12 EUROPEAN STUDENTS TO STEM EDUCATION THROUGH CURRICULUM-BASED FAB LABS” authored by M. A. Togou, C. Lorenzo, G. Cornetta and G.-M. Muntean.


Another team-member from DCU, Dr Ting Bi, presented NEWTON project’s paper “A STUDY OF LEARNING SATISFACTION WITH A MULTI-SENSORY MEDIA DELIVERY SYSTEM” authored by Ting Bi, Muhammed Maddi, Fabio Silva, Gregor Rozinaj (STUBA) and Gabriel-Miro Muntean.

Dr Cristina Muntean also presented the paper on: “IMPROVING LEARNING OUTCOME USING THE NEWTON LOOP GAME: A SERIOUS GAME TARGETING ITERATION IN JAVA PROGRAMMING COURSE” which was authored by Dan Zhao, Adriana E. Chis, Neeraj Choudhary, Eleni G. Makri, Gabriel -Miro Muntean and Cristina Hava Muntean.

Samridh Sharma presented paper “IMPROVING STUDENTS’ LEARNING EXPERIENCE IN A PROGRAMMING MODULE WITH MULTIMEDIA ASSISTED MATERIALS AND PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING” authored by
S. Sharma, N. Choudhary, D. Zhao, C.H. Muntean and G.M. Muntean.
